We can do three main types of fillings, or restorations.

1) Composite resin - the standard white plastic filling. We use a few different types of this material, depending on the situation.

2) amalgam - good old silver fillings, now less popular before.  We will typically only place these if the parents request them specifically.

3) Resin-modified glass ionomer - Most common for baby teeth.  RMGIs are like composite, but have better bonding to the tooth and fluoride release to prevent recurrent decay.  Disadvantages are that they are not as strong as amalgams and composites, but they are strong enough for baby teeth, typically.
